Bauchi Governor declares Friday public holiday to honour late Islamic scholar
Bala Mohammed — governor of Bauchi State — has announced that Friday, 28 November will be observed as a public holiday in the state. The declaration is to mark the burial of the late Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
The governor’s directive aims to give state workers, students and residents the chance to pay their respects and participate in funeral rites. It also provides time for Muslims in the state to observe the burial ceremonies with dignity and collective mourning.
